In this, the first blog post, you will get an impression of how my interest for photography started and why I’m very dedicated to capture you and your loved ones.

Do you remember the small digital cameras that could fit in a trouser pocket or maybe the first mobile phones with a camera? I can! I used both of them a lot. It was amazing that I suddenly as a teenager was able to decide when I was gonna take pictures without asking my parents for their camera and without the fear of destroying their camera.

A golden moment and one of the manyyyyyyy selfies I have taken over the years.

I remember that I played models in my room with my girlfriends, where we would take pictures of each other and pose like the models in the TV-show Top Models. Do you remember the show? I was obsessed… And was this the start of my interest in photography? Maybe - maybe it started way earlier.

My mom has always been really good at taking pictures of us - and a lot of them. She still has endless folders with pictures in photo pockets in her home. And luckily she photographed on films, because after she got a digital camera it was very easy to take way more photos and harder culling the photos - so you can imagine that the amount of pictures exploded afterwards.

And do you know what? I’m very grateful for all the memories she has captured of us throughout my life. Me and my siblings' life has been captured, I can flick through pages of photos and learn more about my childhood - a lot of details are being suppressed with time, because other things fill up the mind. And because of that it’s so incredibly important to have the memories captured.

The only thing I regent, is that there are too few pictures of my patents with me and my siblings. The pictures my parents are in are so much more valuable for me than the pictures of me as the obly one.

The pictures where I’m with my parents gives me an insight into our relationship when I was growing up. And that’s so much more meaningful than a picture of just me sitting and smiling for the camera! Luckily we sent to a photographer a lot of times in my childhood, and there are also pictures of all of us.

And of course I understand why my mom took that many pictures of us when we were kids. I have always taken a lot of pictures, but after I became a mother, that amount exploded. I have a lot of pictures of Otto and Laerke. Maybe bevares of fear of forgetting how they look and their features throughout life? Maybe because I know how quick time flies? Maybe because I know they won’t stay small forever?

But already now I can see and feel how excited the kids are for the pictures of them with Jon and me. Even though they are only two and three years old it’s these pictures that means the most.

And where are you going with this, Louise?

I just want to encourage you to get some pictures taken with your loved ones - our relationships are one of the most important things we have in life and they are worth capturing, so you can relive the time that flies away.

Everyone deserves beautiful pictures that can recall the memories.

This attitude toward things I have always had. And for this I can thank my mom.

And precisely for that reason I wasn’t in doubt that I had to photograph my sister in law’s wedding, even though it would be my first time meeting her.

I met Jon, my fiancé, in march 2015 in a dark bar at Troejborg. We fell in love very quickly, so in april Jon asked me to be his girlfriend and I’m may 2035 the wedding was on.

When Jon told me, that there wasn’ gonna be a photographer at their wedding, there was no doubt in my heart, that I had to capture their big day.

I had never photographed a wedding before at that time, but I knew I had flair for capturing candid moments - and that’s absolutely the most important thing from a wedding day.

So I told Jon to warn my sister in law that I was gonna bring my camera to capture their wedding. It was beautiful, small and intimate with the closest family and I have no doubts that the couple would have regretted it, if they had only got telephone pictures.

A lot has changed since - and when you compare the pictures from then, with my latest work as a self-employed full-time photographer, it's funny to see the contrast compared to back then.
